Using UVCare’s sterilizing wand is extremely easy, which is one of the many we recommend this product above others. To use, you simply press the “ON/TIMER” button for 5 seconds, select the amount of time you want to use it for (between 10 seconds-30 minutes), and then press “START/STOP" to begin. Use for 30 seconds to destroy germs and bacteria and 5 minutes to eliminate dust mites. Shine the light within 1/4 inch of the surface to disinfect. Illuminate the area for 2-3 seconds before moving the lamp to the next section. Voila! Sanitization couldn't be any simpler with this device!
It is important to note that UV-C light cannot disinfect where the light does not shine (which makes sense, if you think about it!). Therefore, crevices as opposed to flat surfaces are not ideal areas for the sterilizing wand. If attempting to sanitize the couch, for example, you will need to make sure to remove the couch cushions before assuming certain crevices are disinfected. However, although the UV-C can’t get into cracks and crevices, it will still receive the total number of pathogens which will, in turn, reduce the risk of transmission; therefore, it is still worth a shine through. An additional concern many have with UV-C lights is that they can be harmful to the eyes and skin. While this is true, this typically would only occur with improper use of the light. UV-C light technology should not be used directly on your skin (such as your hands), rather, only surfaces and items. One of the reasons UVCare’s sterilizing wand is such a phenomenal choice is that it has a built-in safety feature, which ensures the wand shuts off when flipped upright toward your eyes.
